Burica Inc. Fine Art Conservation is dedicated to preserving art and artifacts for future generations. The use of materials and methods for treatment are carefully undertaken for the preservation of the aesthetic, conceptual, and physical characteristics of the work of art, considering the future effects of the conservation materials incorporated into the art during the repair process. I select appropriate conservation techniques that respect the artist's original decisions regarding materials, methods, construction and conceptual ideas.
As a Professional Associate member of AIC (American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works) since 1989, and a long time member of IIC (International Institute of Conservation), I pledge to uphold the AIC Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Practice. Conservators do not authenticate, appraise, or sell art.
I have over 20 years of hands-on conservation experience. From 1987 until 1997, I was on the staff of Orrin H. Riley Ltd. Fine Art in New York City, where I worked with Sandra Amann and Elizabeth Estabrook. In 1997, Burica Fine Art Conservation was founded.
I have treated works from the 15th Century through today's contemporary art, including large scale pieces, Asian screens, and scrolls.
